My name is Heidi Howe and I am proud to be the Principal of Pinewood Elementary School. I look forward to getting to know all of you this summer and fall. Pinewood has a rich history of family engagement and academic success and I look forward to joining the Pinewood team where we will continue to provide opportunities for academic and experiential learning. 

I have a long history in the education world. My parents, who were teachers, brought me from Harmony, MN to the international world. They were teachers at Cairo American College in Ma’adi, Egypt where I graduated from high school. I returned to attend college in the States and then began my teaching career in Owatonna and Farmington. I spent many years teaching in Stewartville at the Middle School and Elementary levels, with a strong focus in literacy and science. I was fortunate to coach all seasons of sports as well. In 2014 I joined RPS and have served as an assistant principal at Riverside Elementary and Gage Elementary for the past 9 years. I have a passion for students experiencing their learning. I love to see students share what they have learned with each other and the school community.
